NANOGRAVURE ™/MULTIMATRIX is a computer generated hologram recorded by electron beam technology with a high resolution of thousands to tens thousands of dpi. Besides holographic motif, it allows to include hidden features into the hologram that are invisible to naked eye.
This technology, developed by Czech company Optaglio Ltd., has inspired me to create a composition of three relief portraits that represent 3 generations of a fictional family.

The portraits are composed as to represent a family tree showing birth dates coincidental with milestones of the nanotechnology development. Apart from the pictorial information the family portraits also carry hidden information /holographic micro texts/ about their manufacture similar to the code of DNA in the human body.

INSTALLATION
4 plates, of which 3 relief. Surface of the portraits are covered with matt metallic foil, while the surrounding surface is coated with interference metallic foil. All plates are secured to the clear Plexiglas plate together with black self-adhesive foil that gives the timeline. The whole composition is placed inside a transparent box with a magnifying front wall.
